On Tuesday Continental High Baseball opened up the Putnam County League portion of the schedule at home against Leipsic. Sam Newsome pitched a complete game for the Pirates giving up 5 hit and 4 runs (1 earned) but it was the Vikings 5th inning rally that propelled them to victory. The Vikings plated a run in the top of the first that would be the only run till the deciding 5th inning. Leipsic would plate 3 runs in the 5th to take a 4-0 lead. The Pirates would cut the lead to 3 in the 6th but that would be it for scoring. Vikings 4-1 final.

The Pirates were no hit by 4 Viking Pitchers. Sam Newsome got on base via the Hit by pitch, stole a base, and scored 1 run. Alex Heidenesher got 2 walks, Braxton Stegbauer, Ethan Sullivan, and Caleb Bibler all had 1 walk.
Continental falls to 0-2 (0-1 PCL) and will host Pettisville on Friday. Leipsic is now 1-0 (1-0 PCL).
