
MARYSVILLE, formerly of OTTAWA – Linda K. Smith Nierman, 79, of Marysville formerly of Ottawa, died 11:52 a.m., Thursday, December 29, 2022, at ProMedica Hospice, Dublin. She was born July 12, 1943, in Continental to the late Lester and Irene (Switzer) Aldrich.
Linda is survived by a very special friend Michael Arnold of Marysville; three sons: Jerry (Maggie) Smith of Celina, Dennis Smith of Continental and Charles Smith of Findlay; 6 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two brothers-in-law; John Parker of Stilwell, OK and David McMonigal of Continental.
She was also preceded in death by two sisters: Barb Parker and Pat McMonigal; a brother, David Aldrich and a grandson, Cory Smith.
Linda worked for Midwest Logistics, Pawating Hospital, Defiance Hospital, Garrard County Hospital of Kentucky, Van Wert and Blanchard Valley Healthcare as a respiratory therapist. She had also worked for Philips Sylvania of Ottawa and Ohio Bell of Paulding. Linda loved Ohio State hockey, cross stitching and making her own style of jewelry. She was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church, Continental and Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa. She was also a past member of the Ottawa E.M.S. where she felt blessed to be part of.
Funeral service will begin 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 7, 2023, at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa. Burial will follow in Middle Creek Cemetery, Grover Hill. Visitation will be from 2 to 8p.m. Friday and one hour prior to the service Saturday at the funeral home.
