
Linda L. (Wilfong) Liebrecht, age 79, Continental, passed away peacefully at home on November 20, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.
Linda was born on May 4, 1943, to the late Marion and June (Schneider) Wilfong. On October 7, 1967, she married Eugene H. Liebrecht, who preceded her in death on April 2, 2020. Together they shared 52 years of marriage.
She was a 1961 graduate of St. Joseph High School in Wapakoneta. After high school, Linda studied at Glenmary Sisters Home Missionary before entering St. Rita’s School of Nursing. After graduation in 1967, Linda worked as an RN for St. Rita’s Hospital, Campbell’s Soup, and Phillips Display. She had a passion for caring for her patients in the Mother Baby unit at St. Rita’s. Linda enjoyed spending time with family, especially her grandchildren, being outside mowing and tending to her flower beds.
Linda is a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Continental. She was a member of St. Isidore Altar Rosary Society and CLC.
Linda is survived by four children: Vicki (Jeff) DeMuth, Phil (Lori) Liebrecht, Kay (Tony) Schroeder, and Carl (Jennifer) Liebrecht; 17 grandchildren: Jeremy, Nathan, Samantha, Travis, Derrick, Brandon (DeMuth); Chloe, Jayna, Nora (Liebrecht); Ashley, Kaytlynn, Peyton (Schroeder); Aubrey, Thomas, Emma, Mathew, and Clara (Liebrecht); four siblings: Mike Wilfong, Wanda (Mike) Nuss, MaryAnn Kohler, and Chris (Greg) Elsea all of Wapakoneta.
She was preceded in death by a son, Don Liebrecht; brother, Marion Wilfong, Jr.; brother-in-law, Edward Kohler; sisters-in-law: Rita Wilfong, and Sr. Marcille Liebrecht.
The funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at 11:00 a.m., at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Continental, with Father Nathan Bockrath officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on November 23, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. A private graveside service at St. Isidore’s Catholic Cemetery, Cuba, will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Continental.
