Local business man Ed Verhoff, President of Verhoff Machine and Welding was recently interviewed for an Associated Press article which found its way to several Main Stream Media outlets. The article, Army Says No to More Tanks, but Congress Insists, was written by Richard Lardner and discussed the fact that far fewer tanks are coming out of General Dynamics in Lima than in years past.

Ed Verhoff, the company’s president, said his sales have dropped from $20 million to $7 million over the past two years. He’s also had to lay off about 25 skilled employees and he expects to be issuing more pink slips in the future.
