The pristine wilderness of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area in northern Minnesota was the destination vacation for Loren, Gene, Joey, Ben, and Tina Swager this summer. The Swager family spent five days canoeing and camping on Sea Gull Lake and Saganaga Lake. They canoed over 50 miles and had lots of time to reel in some fish. The fishing was plentiful – fresh fish for every evening meal. The Swagers used The Way of the Wilderness outfitters and launched their canoes near the end of Gunflint Trail. A Boundary Waters canoe trip requires permits and “carry-in/carry-out” is strictly enforced. It was five days of no cell phones or electronics of any kind , but a trip they would gladly go on again!
