Table Top Champion with her Serama Rooster
Parker, daughter of Bryan & Jetta Wildermuth, has been raising poultry since she was 3 years old and not just the regular farm chickens and ducks. She has some of the rarest breeds of fowl and poultry. She saves all of her grade card money, birthday, and Christmas money to purchase the birds she wants to add to her flock. Parker raises several varieties of quail, chickens, ducks, pigeons, and geese. She has become friends with many breeders from around the world and currently has several F1 birds in her flock. F1 birds are first generation as their parents have come from different countries to the United States. F1’s are the immediate offspring hatched in the US from the imported birds.
While at the Ohio Nationals, Parker had the opportunity to meet P. Allen Smith, expert gardener and host of Garden Home and Garden to Table. He was there to purchase heritage poultry from children at the show. Although Parker doesn’t show Heritage Breeds, she was able to spend some time with him – another great experience of the show. Parker was also invited to show her birds at a large poultry show in Lucasville in April. Congratulations Parker!!
