
It all about how hot Miller City High Girls basketball fired away and connected from outside the 3 point range on Friday as they outpointed Continental in a Putnam County League game. The Wildcats opened the game with a pair of 3s with a basket sandwich between before Ella Siefer made a free throw. Wildcats 8-1. A Wildcat basket was followed up by a 3 point play from Olivia Crossgrove to make it Wildcats 10-4. A third Wildcat 3 of the quarter left the Wildcats with 13 points while the Pirates got a basket from Crossgrove. Wildcats 13-6 after 1. The Wildcats would put in the first 13 points of the second quarter on 4 made free throws and three 3s. Wildcats 26-6. A free throw and a basket from Makenzie Shock tightened the game to 26-9 Wildcats. A Wildcat basket was followed up with a free throw from Crossgrove and Makenzie Shock and a basket at the buzzer by Makenzie Shock. Wildcats 28-13. It was all Wildcats in the third as they would drain five 3s and 4 baskets to put in 27 points while the Pirates got a basket from Crossgove and their first 3 of the night from Mackenzie Shock. Wildcats 55-18 after 3. A close fourth quarter also went to the Wildcats as they put in 9 points while the Pirates got 8. Wildcat 64-26 final.
Mackenzie Shock led the Pirates with 12 points while Olivia Crossgrvoe put in 8. Morgan Shock and Becca Stark both scored 2 points and Ella Siefer and Destiny Pier both scored 1 point. The Pirates made two 3 pointers both by Makenzie Shock while the Wildcats put in 12.
Continental falls to 0-10 (0-2 PCL) and will travel to Northwood on Tuesday. Miller City improves to 8-1 (3-1 PCL).
