Miriam “Mim” Elkins, 1947 – 2025

CONTINENTAL – Miriam “Mim” Elkins, 78, of Continental, passed away on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at The Meadows of Kalida. She was born April 2, 1947, in Findlay to the late Rex and Mary (Prowant) Shafer.  On May 24, 1969, she married Larry Elkins, who survives in Continental.

 Other survivors include three children: Kerri (Gary) Louiselle, Cheryl (Kevin) Grant, both of Continental and Nathanial (Ellen) Elkins of Ottawa; four grandchildren: Nikolas (Kelby) Louiselle, Rex (Rachel) Louiselle, Kenneth Grant and Kimberly Grant; five great-grandchildren: Reid, Margo, Kallie, Daxton and Paul Louiselle; and two brothers: Calvin (Jo Anne) Shafer and Melvin (Bobbi) Shafer.

  Mim retired from Philips, Ottawa and formerly worked at Bob’s Carry-out, Continental. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Continental. Being creative made Mim very happy. She enjoyed doing crafts, especially crocheting and diamond art. Mim loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

  Funeral service will begin at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, December 19, 2025 at Christ United Methodist Church, Continental with Pastor Monica Kleman officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday at the church.

  Arrangements are under the direction of HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Continental.

  Memorial donations may be made to Christ United Methodist Church, Continental.
