For 5 of the six innings Continental’s starting pitcher, Sam Newsome, kept the Pirates even in Wednesday’s game against Fort Jennings. The game was originally scheduled for Tuesday at Fort Jennings but moved to Continental where the Pirates were the visitors on the scoreboard. A scoreless game through 3 innings saw the Musketeers score the games only runs in the fourth, as they plated 4 runs. Continental struggled from the offensive side with Newsome getting the only hit for the Pirates.
Newsome finished the complete game going 6 innings giving up 7 hits and striking out 7.
Continental falls t0 2-13 (0-6 PCL) and will travel to Paulding on Friday for a non league game. Fort Jennings improves to 6-9 (3-3 PCL).
