Musketeers 46, Pirates 34

Things cancelled at Fort Jennings High this week, Homecoming dance and Girls Varsity game against Continental.  The Boys game against Continental was on and so was the host Musketeers.  Fort Jennings opened up the game by putting in the first 5 points. Mitchell Coleman got the Pirates on the board with a basket to make it 5-2.  The Musketeers would finish up the quarter with 5 of the 7 scored to take a 10-4 lead after one.  Coleman made a pair of free throws for the Pirates.
Jennings would start the quarter with a basket to make it a 8 point lead.  The Pirates would answer with a 8 point run fueled by a pair of baskets by Bryce Recker and a Coleman basket and a pair free throws.  12 all tie.  A basket by the Musketeers would be followed by a Coleman 3 to give the Pirates their only lead 15-14.  A 3 point play put the Musketeers up by 2 17-15.  The Pirates would get a Konner Knipp Williams basket to retie the game at 17.  The half ended with a pair of Musketeer free throws and basket.  Musketeers 21-17.
The Pirates would open up the third with a Recker basket to make it a 2 point game 21-19. The two teams would exchange points with the Pirates getting a basket from Reed Warnement. 23-21 Musketeers.  A 3 by the Musketeers would be followed by a Coleman basket 26-23.  An exchange of baskets would keep the difference at 3.  Coleman hit for the Pirates.  The Musketeer pushed their lead to 5, 30-25 by making a basket.  The Pirates Coleman would score the last 3 points of the quarter.  Musketeers 30-28.
Recker started out the fourth with a free throw to make it a 1 point game 30-29.  The Musketeers opened up their final scoring with a 3 which was followed by a Recker basket 33-31 Musketeers.  Foul trouble would end the Pirates comeback as 3 Pirates would foul out and the Musketeers would finish the game outscoring the Pirates 13-3.  46-34 Musketeer final.
Continental was led in scoring by Mitchell Coleman with 21 points while Bryce Recker put in 9 points.  Reed Warnement and Konner Knipp Williams scored 2 each.  Coleman made the only 3 for the Pirates while the Musketeers made 3.
Continental falls to 4-9 (1-2 PCL) and will host Montpelier on Friday in a nonleague game. Fort Jennings is now 3-5 (1-1 PCL).
Continental has added to Fayette to the schedule on Monday February 15 at home.
Coleman now has scored 1079 career points he is now 13th on the Pirate career scoring list.  He passed Matt Olds (1066) this game.  He is currently 52th in the Putnam County boys career scoring list.
