Lets focus on the great season Continental High Boys Soccer team had in 2025. Seniors Monty Rayle, Rhettik Bowers, Quinn Tegenkamp, Jackson Bidlack, Cameron Burgei, Tyson Clementz, and Michael Strickler etched 2025 on the Continental High banners. They were Putnam County League Champs, Sectional Champs, and hold the school record for most wins in a season. They also moved up and claimed a #2 rating in DV MAXPrep poll. On Saturday, a OHSAA DV District title was not in the cards as Fort Jenning took advantage of every second of the first half and then escaped a barrage of Pirate shots in the second half to celebrate with a 2-1 win. Fort Jennings scored 42 seconds into the game on a crossing pass to the opposite side of the goal box for a shot from the 5 and then with 12.2 seconds left in the half the Musketeers made it 2-0 on a pass from the right sideline to the center for a clear shot at the goal. The Pirates put on a great attempt to come back after the 2-0 halftime deficit, including hitting the goal post with 8:25 left. The Pirates made it 2-1 with 4:40 left when a throw in from the right sideline went past a number of players before Jackson Bidlack hit the back of the net with a short shot. Quinn Tegenkamp picked up the assist. The Pirates would get a number of shots off at the goal including a real good look with 10 seconds left but the Musketeer defense was up to the task.
Senior Jackson Bidlack scored a goal for the Pirates and Senior Quinn Tegenkamp picked up an assist. Senior Jayden Pitney picked up the loss in the goal for the Pirates. The Pirates defense stood tall in the second half with Pitney making a number of saves including stopping a Musketeer breakaway.
Continental finishes their season at 16-2-2. Fort Jennings improves to 11-5-4 and will face Ottawa Hills at Tiffin on Wednesday for a DV Regional Semifinal. Ottawa Hills advanced with a 2-0 win over Ottoville.
Thanks Seniors Monty Rayle, Rhettik Bowers, Quinn Tegenkamp, Jackson Bidlack, Cameron Burgei, Tyson Clementz, Michael Strickler for a great season and memories. Good luck in the future!
