On Friday Continental play host to Fort Jennings in Putnam County League Boys Basketball. The middle two quarter provided the downfall for the Pirates. However things started out great for the Pirates as the Musketeers won the tip and put in the first 2 points the Pirates came back and tied it on a Jarret Keck basket. A 6 point Musketeer run was stopped by an Alex Hale basket. Another Musketeer basket was met by a 5 point Pirate run as Caleb Olds hit a 3 and 2 pointer, Musketeers 10, Pirates 9. A Fort Jennings 3 point play was matched when Chris Potts made a 3 pointer. A Musketeer basket ended their scoring in the first at 15 while the Pirates ended up scoring the last 4 points of the quarter on baskets by Potts and Olds to make it 16-15 Pirates after 1.
The middle two quarters decided the games as the Pirates found hitting the bottom of the net difficult. Fort Jennings put in in the first 11 points of the second quarter to open up a 24 -16 lead. Pirate Nick States put in a basket with 3 seconds to go in the half for the Pirates – the only points in the second. Musketeers 26-18 at half.
The Pirate offensive woes continued in the third quarter as the Musketeers put in the first 8 points of the quarter to make it a 16 point lead 34-18. Pirate Keck hit a basket at the buzzer to make it Musketeers 34, Pirates 20.
The two teams played even in the fourth as the Pirates shooting touch returned. The closest the Pirates could come to the Musketeers in the fourth was 12 points at 42-28. In the end it was Musketeers 50, Pirates 36.
Caleb Olds led the Pirates with 11 points while Chris Potts put in 8. Mitchell Coleman had 6 points, Jarret Keck 5, and Alex Hale, Nick States, and Bryce Recker put in 2 each. Potts and Coleman both hit two 3 pointers while Olds hit 1.

The highlighting the night was the Military Appreciation Night activities as the Color Guards from Continental and Fort Jennings American Legion Posts served as Color Guards. The Volley for the Vets committee announced that they had raised over $1500 for Operation Homefront, an organization that helps Veterans in need. Volley for the Vets was held on December 2 and raised the donation through concession and tshirt sales, entry fees, and a 50/50 raffle.
