On Tuesday, Continental High Girls Soccer team traveled to Archbold to play a non-league match-up. With the Pirates moving from the Ottoville Division III District to the Napoleon Division III District this late season game should weigh heavily on seeding votes. The Pirates only play 3 teams in the Napoleon District this year (Archbold, Miller City, and Paulding). Archbold entered the game as one of two District undefeated teams with Liberty Center being the other. Continental entered the game with the third best record in the district.
Neither team was able to hit the back of the net in this match of Northwest District powers. An even game had the Blue streaks having an 8-6 advantage in shots. The two teams were even in corner kicks at 3. Angel Brzozowski made 3 saves as the Pirate goalie in the shutout effort.
Continental moves to 9-2-1 and will travel to Lima Spartan Staduim to take on Lima Central Catholic (6-4) on Monday October 1st. The Blue Streaks, ranked 12th in the latest OSSCA Division III State poll is now 7-0-5.
Continental is #8 in the latest Northwest Ohio OSSCA Divison III poll while Archbold is ranked #3. Lima Central Catholic is ranked #7 in D-III in Northwest Ohio.
