Pair of Putnam County Boys Teams to State
Putnam County will send the maximum number of teams possible to the OHSAA Boys State Basketball Tournament next week at the University of Dayton Arena. Last year both Columbus Grove and Ottawa Glandorf Boys teams advanced to the Regional Finals when the season ended due to COVID.

Columbus Grove to Division IV State Boys Tournament
Columbus Grove punched their ticket to the State Tournament to be hosted by University of Dayton on Friday as they defeated New Bremen 50-48 in a Van Wert Regional Final. The Bulldogs defeated Carey 48-45 in the Regional Semifinals. Columbus Grove (24-2) will play in the State Semifinal on Friday March 19 at 2:00 against New Boston Glennwood (24-2). Boktins (25-3) will play Richmond Heights (17-4) in the other semifinal. Division State Finals will be held on Sunday March 21 at 10:45.
Ottawa Glandorf to Division III State Boys Tournament
Ottawa Glandorf advanced to the Division III State tournament with a 64-56 win over Johnstown on Saturday in the Elida Regional Finals. The Titans defeated Archbold 52-48 in the Regional Semifinals. The Titans (20-4) will face Cleveland Heights Lutheran East (14-3) on Friday at 8:00 at the University of Dayton Arena. The other Division III State Semifinals features Worthington Christian (27-1) and Cincinnati Taft (16-4). The Division III Finals will be held on Sunday March 21 at 2:00.
OG Girls State Division III Runners Up
Ottawa Glandorf Girls Basketball teams advanced to the OHSAA Division III State tournament out of the Lexington Regional. On Thursday they took on Waynedale in the State Semifinals at University of Dayton Arena. The Titans took the Semifinal game 46-36. Berlin Hiland took the other Division III State Semifinal with a 47-40 win over Cincinnati Purcell Marian. The State finals was held on Saturday with Berlin Hiland taking home the title 45-25. Ottawa Glandorf finishes the season at 26-3. This was the fifth time the Titans have advanced to the State Tournament in the last 7 years. In that time the Titans have taken home 3 runners up trophies.
