Last Friday was a great day for Pirate fans as Continental High Junior Rhaegan Marshall punched her ticket to state in the Girls Long Jump. The top 4 seeded jumpers in the Girls Long jump claimed the 4 spots allotted to the Fostoria Regional. Two additional spots are awarded to State based on the best jumps not in the top 4 at each regional. Marshall jumped 16’4.5″ to place 4th in the Fostoria Regional. Coldwater’s Izzy Zahn claimed the regional championship with a jump of 17’5.5″. Riverdale’s Auhdra Myers was 2nd jumping 17’3.25″ and Ayersville’s Ally Schindler was 3rd jumping 17’1.25″. Marshall entered the Regional with a #2 seed following a 17″4.25″ jump at the Ayersville District meet.
Rhaegan’s qualifying for state adds to the list of accomplishments she has had this season including Ayersville District Champion, Putnam County League Champion, Edgerton Invitational and Patrick Henry Joe Tussing Invitional Champion. Rhaegan also established a new Continental High Girls long jump standard jumping 17’8.25″.
Girls Long Jump is on Friday June 2nd at 1:00 at Jesse Owens Stadium on the Ohio State University Campus. Rhaegan will be in the first flight jumping first. The long jump pit is on the North end of the track. Good luck Rhaegan!
