Sunday the OHSAA Division IV boys basketball Elida District draw saw #1 Crestview 12-5, #2 Columbus Grove 13-6 and # 3 Leipsic 13-5 taking byes to the sectional final. Six teams at the draw had either 12 or 13 wins and 5, 6 or 7 losses so the District looks to be very balanced with a number of teams looking to advance to the Bowling Green State University Regionals. #4 Pandora Gilboa 12-6, #5 Patrick Henry 12-5, #6 Ottoville 12-7 all took sectional semifinal games in the Van Wert Sectional along with #1 Crestview.
Continental took the 11th seed and will have a rematch with league rival Ottoville on Wednesday Feb 23 at Van Wert. The sectional bracket at Van Wert harkens back to the 80s as it features 6 Putnam County League teams and Patrick Henry. In the 80s sectionals were held at Ottawa Glandorf and usually included Patrick Henry and a host of PCL teams.
