
A lot of top teams were vying byes and paths to the District Semifinals at the OHSAA Division IV Boys Basketball Elida draw. There were 2 AP state ranked teams, the top 3 teams in the Northwest Conference, 3 of the teams tied for the Blanchard Valley Conference, and the entire Putnam County League. Top seed and a bye went to the #2 ranked Division IV Columbus Grove currently #1 in the NWC and #2 in the PCL. Second seed and a bye went to the #5 ranked Ottoville currently assured at least a tie in the Putnam County League. Third seed and the last bye went to the number #2 in the NWC Crestview. Kalida currently #4 in the PCL picked up the 4th seed. The number #5 seed went to the NWC 3rd place team Lincolnview. 3 of the 5 teams currently tied for 1st place (6-2 league record) are in this District and were award seed #6 Leipsic (also # 3 in PCL), #7 Cory Rawson, and #8 Pandora Gilboa (currently 8th in PCL).
Continental was seeded 9th and will travel to #4 seed Kalida on Monday February 23.
The Elida District winner will play in the Northwest Ohio Regional against the winner of the Findlay District. Top seeds in the Findlay District are Old Fort #1 and Tiffin Calvert #2. Site for the Regional is not announced yet. The other side of the Regional bracket has Defiance District (#1 Antwerp and #2 Toledo Christian) against Wapakoneta District (#1 Lima Perry and #2 Minster).
The site of the state tournament has not been announced.
