
Continental hosted the Ottoville Big Green on Friday night at the Pirates’ Cove. The Putnam County League game was decided from the foul line. There were no missed shots from the line for the first 24 free throws; Ottoville made 17 while Continental made their first 7 foul shots. The Big Green (8-10) made their first 26 foul shots and finished up 32 for 35 from the line for a blistering 91%. The Pirates (5-12) ended up 15 of 20 from the line.
The Pirates opened the game strong with a 12-9 first quarter lead and then scored the first 7 points in the second quarter to make the lead 19-10. Ottoville came roaring back to tie the score 19-19. At the end of the second quarter, it was Pirates 26-21. The Big Green came out in the third quarter to take a 41-38 lead at the break. Final score was Ottoville 62, Pirates 55. Ottoville is currently tied for the PCL lead with a 5-1 record.
Austin Mansfield led the way for the Pirates with 20 points (4 three pointers) while Tyler Rue had 17.
