On Thursday Continental High Softball traveled to Parkway to take on the OHSAA Division IV Elida District top seed Panthers in a Sectional Semifinal. Parkway came into the game ranked 5 in the latest state coaches poll. The Panthers showed that the ranking and seeding was correct on this day as the scored early and often against the Pirates. After a scoreless first by the Pirates the Panthers put up 9 runs on the scoreboard. A second inning had the Panthers score 8 more to take a 17-0 lead. The Panthers scoring slowed for the rest of the game but the damage was done early. Parkway 24, Continental 0.
Continental falls to 6-10 and will host Columbus Grove for senior day on Saturday. Parkway improves to 12-5 and will take on Lincolnview on Tuesday at Elida in a District Semifinal game.
