Officers arrested a 43 year old Paulding man on charges of felonious assault following an incident on Elm Street in Continental. Jeffrey Merritte allegedly attacked another man with a pool stick and a knife. He then fled the scene and was arrested without incident at his residence in Paulding County. Merritte will appear in Putnam County Municipal Court at 9:00am Friday morning. The victim, who’s name was not released, was transported by Continental EMS to the Ambulatory Care Center where he was treated and released.
