A fast start by visiting Ayersville High put them in control of the nonleague Girls Basketball game at Continental on Tuesday evening. The Pilots opened up with an 18-4 lead after 1. The second quarter had the Pilots expand their lead by 12. Ayersville 38-12 at half. The second half had the Pirates cut into the Pilot lead by 2. The Pilots left the 3rd quarter with a 50-23 lead. The Pirates took the fourth quarter 7-4. Pilots 54-20 final.
A total of 8 Pirates hit the scoreboard with Tegenkamp leading the way with 12 points. Cordes scored 4, Logan and Searfoss had 3 each, Armey, Knowles, Becher, and Rose all had 2 points. Logan and Searfoss both made a 3 point shot while the Pilots made 5.
Continental 2-17 and will host Kalida on Thursday for a Senior night/Putnam County League/Regular season final game. Ayersville improves to 17-3.
