On Friday, host Ayersville Baseball hit the plate early to take control of the non league game against Continental. The Pilots opened up the game with 4 runs in the first but the Pirates settled down and held the Pilots scoreless in the next two innings. A change in Pirate pitching in the 4th from Sam Newsome to Ethan Sullivan had the Pilots score a run in the 4th off to take a 5-0 lead. A pair of Pilot runs in the 6th ended the days scoring. Pilots 7-0 winner.
The Pirates had 3 hits in the game with Rhettik Bowers having 2 singles. Sam Newsome started the game and gave up 4 runs on 5 hits while striking out 4 Pilots in 3 innings. Ethan Sullivan gave up 3 runs on 3 hits in 3 innings. The Pirates committed 1 error while the Pilots committed 4. Continental falls to 1-8 and will host Fort Jennings on Tuesday. Ayersville improves to 10-5.
