A pair of Pirates have been selected to play in the Ohio Veterans 4 County Memorial All-Star Games this weekend. Brady Dockery and Gannon Prowant will put on the Pirate colors for the only time this season on Saturday June 6 at 5:00 pm. This game will feature Putnam County League Seniors (recent graduates) in a game where Continental, Kalida, and Miller City will combine forces to play against Pandora-Gilboa, Leipsic, Columbus Grove, and Fort Jennings.
This is just one of 4 games planned for the weekend. Up first on Friday night (June 5) at 5:00 is a Blanchard Valley Conference game with players from Cory-Rawson, Liberty Benton and Riverdale tangling with players from McComb, Van Buren, and Arcadia. The second game on Friday is a Limaland game with players from Lima Senior, Findlay, Ottawa-Glandorf, Perry, Elida and Delphos St. John’s competing against a team comprised of players from Shawnee, Celina, Bath, Kenton, Van Wert and St. Marys. This game is scheduled for 7:30.
Saturday at 5:00 will be the PCL game followed by the Northwest Conference game where players from Ada, Bluffton, Allen East, Paulding, Spencerville, Delphos Jefferson, Crestview, Hardin Northern, Upper Scioto Valley and Lincolnview will compete.
All the games are at Ottawa Memorial Park. Make plans to attend any and all the games. As a reminder groups are reminded to comply with the 6 foot social distancing guideline. Some rules implemented for the game players are to avoid high fives and handshake lines as well as not sharing water or equipment. No spitting or using seeds, gum or other similar products. Pitchers will be limited to 1 or 2 innings depending on pitch.
