
On Monday Continental High baseball scored early and often to take control of the game at Antwerp. The Pirates opened up the game by scoring 3 runs in the top of the first. The Archers scored a run in the second to make it 3-1 Pirates. Another 3 spot on the second expanded their lead to 5, 6-1 Pirates. 4 runs in the third made the Pirate lead 9, 10-1. Meanwhile Archer offense was held scoreless. The Pirates would add 2 insurance runs in the top of the 7th for a 12-1 Pirate final.
Jayden Pitney led the Pirate offense with a pair of doubles, a single and scoring 3 runs. Tim Shepard hit 2 singles and scored a pair of runs. Jackson Bidlack hit a pair of singles and drove in 3 runs. Sam Newsome scored 2 runs and had 3 runs batted in. Ethan Sullivan scored 3 runs. Quin Tegenkamp drove in 3 runs. Rhettik Bowers drove in 2 runs. Overall the Pirates had 11 hits.
Ethan Sullivan picked up the complete game victory going 7 innings, giving up 5 hits, 1 run, and had 10 strikeouts. The Pirates committed 2 errors while the Archers made 5.
Continetal improves to 1-7 and will travel to Ayersville on Friday. Antwerp falls to 3-7.
