Sports — A 3-run rally in their final at bats left the Pirate Baseball 2 runs short on Thursday when they traveled to Pandora Gilboa for a Putnam County League game. After multiple reschedules, the game on Thursday had the host Rockets score first when they plated 2 runs in their first at bat. The Pirates took the lead in the second when they scored three runs. The Pirates 3-2 lead held till the bottom of the third when the Rockets scored one to make it 3 all. The Rockets would take the lead for good when they pushed 3 across in the bottom of the 5th for a 6-3 Rocket lead. The Rockets scored a pair of insurance runs in the 6th to take a 8-3 leading into the Pirates last at bat. A 3-run 7th would not be enough for the Pirates this day as the Rockets left 8-6 winners.
Junior Nick States took the loss for the Pirates. The Pirates had 7 hits with Senior Dylan Coleman having a pair of singles while Senior Caleb Olds hit a double.
Continental ends up at 5-15 (2-5 PCL) while Pandora Gilboa is 6-14 (3-4 PCL).
