
All the scoring came early as Continental played host to Lima Temple in Boys Non League Soccer action on Tuesday. Continental opened up the scoring at the 33:16 mark when Konnor Okuley put a pass from Jarrett Keck in the net for a 1-0 Pirate lead. A little over a minute later the Pioneers put in the equalizer at 32:06. Konnor Okuley put the Pirates in the lead for good when he buried a Cole Bowers pass in the back of the net for a Pirate 2-1 lead. Pirate Cole Bowers finished up the scoring in the first half by putting a pass from Westin Okuley across the line at the 15:21 mark for a Pirate 3-1 halftime lead.
The Pirate 3-1 halftime lead stood as neither team scored in the second half.
In an evenly played game Continental had 8 shots on goal to Temple Christian’s 6. The Pirates had 4 corner kicks to the Pioneers 2. Pirate Goalie Trevor Brecht had 5 saves the same as the Pioneer goalie.
Continental is now 3-2 and will host Fort Jennings in a Putnam County League game. Temple Christian is now 3-1-1.
