Pirates Boys Soccer 1-0 Over Byran
Pirate Noah Becher could not have picked a better game to score his first goal of the year as it was the only one of the game. On Thursday, Continental hosted Bryan in Boys Soccer non-league action. An even contest had Becher put in the only goal of the game at the 20:23 mark in the first half. Konnor Okuley assisted on the goal. Neither team scored in the second half as shots on goal were at a premium.
Continental and Bryan both had 4 shots on goal with Pirate Goalie Trevor Brecht having 4 saves. Both team had 1 corner kick. Continental improves to 5-3. Bryan falls to 2-6-1. Junior Varsity game was a 1 all tie.
Pirates – Falcons tie in Boys Soccer
It was a tale of two halves with host Riverdale taking the first half and Continental taking the second in this Boys Soccer non-league action. Riverdale got the scoring started with a goal at the 16:03 mark. A second Falcon goal less than 3 minutes later made it Riverdale 2, Continental 0. This was also the score at halftime.
Pirates Freshman Andrew Hoeffel put in a penalty kick with 31:08 left in the game to make it 2-1 Falcon. A furious Pirate attack at the end of the game ended when Pirate Sophomore Westin Okuley put in in a Cole Bower pass to tie the game with 44 second remaining. Pirates 2, Falcons 2 final.
Riverdale had 8 shots on goal to the Pirates 4. Pirate Goalies Trevor Brecht made 3 saves and Cody Auch made 4 saves.
Continental moves to 5-3-1 and will travel to Kalida on Friday for a big Putnam County League game.
