On Thursday Continental Boys soccer went on a scoring rampage in the first 20 minutes of the game at Liberty Center on way to a 5-1 nonleague victory. Rhenn Armey started out the Pirates scoring by putting an Andrew Hoeffel pass into the net 5:15 into the game. Armey then set up Wyatt Davis for a goal 4 minutes later, Pirates 2, Tigers 0. Less than a minute later Davis got his second goal to give the Pirates a 3-0 lead. Westin Okuley would put the Pirates up 4-0 at the 21:44 mark in the first half. The Tigers would score with just under 6 minutes to go to make it 4-1 at half.
Davis would complete the hat trick for the Pirates and score the game’s only goal in the second half when he put one in 7:10 left in the game. Pirates 5-0 final.
Wyatt Davis led the Pirates with 3 goals and 1 assist. Westin Okuley and Rhenn Armey both scored 1 goal. Andrew Hoeffel and Rhenn Armey each had one assist.
Konnor Knipp-Williams made one save in the goal and got credit for the win. Continental outshot the Tigers 14-2. The Pirates had 9 corner kicks to the Tigers 2.
Continental improves to 10-2 and will travel to Ottawa Hills on Saturday for a non league game. The Green Bears are ranked 8th in the latest OSSCA Division III State poll and #2 in the OSSCA Division III Northwest Ohio poll. The Pirates are ranked 6th in the OSSCA Division III Northwest Ohio poll. Liberty Center falls to 1-9-2.
