Saturday had Continental and Miller City High School Girls Soccer teams battling in the heat while raising money to help treat cancer in the Annual Kickin Cancer game. The host Pirates stayed among the Putnam County League teams with a win to stay undefeated in league games. It was scoreless till the end of the first half when Pirate Kaylee Boecker hit the back of the net with 2:21 left in the half. Pirates 1-0 half. It took the Pirates just over a minute into the second half to add an insurance goal when Maeci Dockery hit the back of the net off a Makenzie Shock pass with 38:43 left in the game. Pirate defense took it from there. Pirates 2-0 winner.

Mackenzie Niese picked up the shutout win in goal for the Pirates and had 7 saves. The Wildcats had a 13-12 advantage on shots while both teams had 7 shots on goal. Continental had a 6-3 advantage on corner kicks.
Continental improves to 8-3 (2-0 PCL) and will travel to Archbold on Tuesday. Miller City falls to 4-3-2 (0-2-1 PCL).
