On Friday evening, Continental High pitching ace Gracie Homier did not let the chilly temperatures effect her as she shutdown visiting Pettisivlle on 2 hits in the complete game. It was the Pirates on the scoreboard first as they plated a pair of runs in the second. The Pirates followed that up with a pair of runs in the third to take a 3-0 lead. The Pirates would finish off the day’s scoring by plating 5 in the bottom of the fourth to take a 8-0 win.
The Pirates pounded put 11 hits. Raegen Clemens led the Pirates with a triple and 2 doubles, scoring and driving in a run. Gracie Homier hit a pair of singles. Becca Stark had a hit, drove in 3 runs, and scored a run. Mallorie has a hit, earned a walk, scored a run and stole a base. Kimberly Grant had a hit, scored 2 runs, picked up a walk and stole a base. Maaeci Dockery has a hit, scored and drove in a run, and stole a base. Kenzie Searfoss and Ava Homier both had a hit and scored a run. Allie Weller earned a walk.
Gracie Homier pitched the complete game shutout for the Pirates giving up 2 hits, 2 walks and 14 strikeouts.
Continental improves to 4-3 and will take on Wayne Trace in the first of 3 games on Saturday when they compete in the Ayersville Great 8 Tournament. Pettisville falls to 3-4.
