
Gracie Homier continues rewriting the Continental High School Softball strikeout record book as she added 2 more records Thursday at Upper Scioto Valley. Homier, after setting the game strikeout earlier in the year with 17 strikeouts, took over the season strikeout with 145 strikeouts in 2025 and the career strikeout record with 397 (old record was 389). It was the Rams early as they put up 2 runs then took a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the third. The Pirates cut the Rams lead to 2 with a run in the fourth. The Pirates took the lead in the top of the fifth as they scored 3 runs highlighted by Grace Homier hitting the ball out of the park to put the Pirates up 4-3. The Pirates added a run in the seventh while holding the Rams scoreless through the last 4 innings. Pirates 5-3 winner.
Gracie Homier led the Pirates with a home run and 2 runs batted in. Maeci Dockery had 2 hits, stole a base and scored a run. Kimberly Grant had 2 hits, was hit by a pitch, stole 2 bases and scored a run. Kenzie Searfoss had a hit, earned a walk, scored a run and stole 2 bases. Ava Homier walked twice, scored a run and stole 2 bases. Macie Clemens walked. Cassie Pier walked and stole a base. Cheyenne Goings drove in a run and stole a base.
Gracie Homier picked up the complete game victory for the Pirates. Homier pitched 7 innings, giving up 4 hits, 3 runs (2 earned) with 1 walk and 15 strikeouts.
Continental improves to 9-6 and will host Antwerp on Friday. Upper Scioto Valley fell to 2-8.
