Pirate Softball Runs and Walks Over Big Green

On Monday night Continental High Softball team earned 9 walks and stole 11 bases at Ottoville to remain undefeated in Putnam County League play.  After a scoreless first inning the Pirates put a 5 spot on the board to take the early lead. The Pirates made it 6-0 in the third and added 3 more runs in the fourth to take a 9-0 lead.  The Big Green would rally in the bottom of the seventh but 2 runs was not enough.  Pirates 9-2 final.
Maeci Dockery led the Pirates with a double, 2 runs scored, 2 runs drove in, 2 walks and a stolen base.  Ava Homier has a single, scored a run and drove in a pair.  Becca Sullivan had a hit, scored and drove in a run, earned a walk and stole a base.  Macie Clemens had a hit and earned a walk, scored a run and stole 2 bases.  Mallorie  Barnhart had a hit and earned a walk, scored a run and stole a base.  Kenzie Searfoss had a hit.  Raegen Clemens walked twice, scored 2 runs, drove in a run, and stole 2 bases.  Cassie Pier waked once, scored a run and stole a base.  Gracie Homier earned a walk and stole 2 bases.
Gracie Homier pitched a complete game for the Pirates giving up 2 runs on 4 hits, 3 walks and 8 strikeouts.  The Pirates played errorless ball while the Big Green made a pair of errors.
Continental improves to 5-6 (2-0 PCL) and will continue to defend their PCL crown on Tuesday at Columbus Grove.  Ottoville falls to 0-8 (0-2 PCL).
