On Tuesday the Pirate softball team traveled to Kalida for their opening Putnam County League match. Things didn’t go the Pirates way early as the Wildcats put a pair on the board in the third. The fourth had the Pirates score 4 for a 4-2 lead. In the bottom of the fifth the Wildcats put another pair on the board to make it a 4 all game. The score remained that way till the 8th when the Pirates scored a run and then put out the Wildcats for the extra inning win. Ashley Mansfield pitched 2 innings of scoreless relief for the win.
The Pirates pounded out 8 hits to the Wildcats 5. Jade Zachrich led the Pirates with 3 hits and 2 RBIs. Amber Logan had 2 hits and 2 RBIs while Mackenzie Rayle, Madi Sharp, and Addyson Armey each had one hit.
Continental is now 1-3 (1-0 PCL) while Kalida falls to 0-2 (0-1 PCL). The Pirates are at Spencerville on Saturday for a non-league double header at noon.

Baseball
Pirates were at Ottoville for a league game when the game was suspended in the third inning with the score being 1-0 Big Green. This game will resume on May 3rd at 5:00 at Ottoville.
Softball
Pirates were hosting Tinora when the non league game was suspended in the fifth inning with the score being 9-0 Rams. No date has been set for completion of this game.
