
Volleyball
The Pirates opened the week by hosting Holgate in a non league match on Monday. The Pirates won the first game 25-15 and followed that up by taking the second game 25-18. The third game was closer but the Pirates prevailed 25-22 to take the match. The Pirates are now 3-13. The Pirate Junior Varsity team won 2-1.
On Thursday the Edgerton Bulldogs came to town to take on the VolleyPirates. Going for two in a row the Pirates opened the match with a close first game victory 26-24. In the second game the Pirates won 25-18. The third game the Pirates put the match away 25-14. The Pirates are now 4-13. The Pirate Junior Varsity won 2-1.
On Saturday the VolleyPirates hosted Columbus Grove in a Putnam County League matchup. The Bulldogs open the match up by taking the first game 25-18 and followed that up by taking the second game 25-14. It was all Bulldogs in the third game 25-9. The Bulldogs move to 9-8, 3-1 in the PCL while the Pirates fall to 4-14, 0-4 in the PCL. The Bulldog took the Junior Varsity match 25-10,25-13. The VolleyPirates are next in action on Monday as they travel to Antwerp.
Girls Soccer
On Tuesday the Pirates hosted Archbold in a non league matchup. In a close match the Blue Streaks scored the only goal for a 1-0 half time lead. The second half was all Streaks as they scored 3 for a 4-0 final. The Pirates are now 3-8.
On Thursday the Pirates faced another NWOAL foe in the Bryan Golden Bears. Playing at the Pirate Pitch saw the Pirates get a pair of goals from Paige Lawhorn but the Bears left the winner by putting 3 in the goal. Ashley Mansfield was in the goal for the Pirates. The Lady Pirates are now 3-9 and are next in action on Monday as they host the Lima Central Catholic Thunderbirds.
Boys Soccer
On Tuesday the Pirate soccer bus traveled up Ohio State Route 15 to Bryan. The Bears prevailed 2-1. The Bears moved to 5-6 while the Pirates fall to 3-6-2.
In the wind and rain the Rangers of New Knoxville visited the Pirate Pitch for a Saturday morning game. The Pirates came out early and scored two to take a 2-0 halftime lead. The Pirates added 3 more in the second half for a 5-0 win. Chris Potts put 3 pass the goalie while Konnor Okuley socred the other two goals. Nick Koenig had a pair of assist while Dean Krendl had a single assist. Trevor Williamson was in the goal for the Pirate shutout. The Pirates are now 4-6-2 while the Rangers are 0-12. The Pirates travel to Archbold for their next game on Tuesday.
