
Saturday had Continental Boys soccer get in a quick 2-0 against host and fellow OHSAA DIII Kalida District foe Ottawa Glandorf but then it was all Pirates. A little under 10 minutes into the game the Titans hit the back of the net to take a 1-0 lead. Nine minutes later the Titans picked up goal two. Titans 2-0. Then it was the Pirates turn to score in the first half as Senior Braxton Stegbauer cut the deficit to 1 with 12:48 left in the half. The Pirates would tie the game at 2 when Bain Stegbauer would score off a Senior Mason Rayle pass with 9:38 left in the half. Pirates,Titans 2 all at half.
The Pirates took their first lead of the game just over 2.5 minutes into the second half when Senior Carson Etter scored to make it Pirates 3-1. Collin Davis added an insurance goal with just over 4 minutes left in the game. Pirates 4-2 final.
Braxton Stegbauer, Bain Stegbauer, Carson Etter and Collin Davis all scored for the Pirates. Mason Rayle picked up an assist.
Collin Hammond and Jayden Pitney shared the Pirates goalkeeping responsibilities. Pitney picked up a save. Continental had a 6-4 advantage on shots on goal and 7-2 advantage on corner kicks.
Continental improves to 8-6-1 and will host Pettisville on Tuesday for Senior night.
