The Stryker Panthers provided the opposition for the annual Junior Cheer night at the Cove. The Cheerleaders had a mass of elementary future cheerleaders perform cheers and a dance routine at half – great halftime entertainment.
The Pirates overcame a rough third quarter for a 54-46 win. The game started with the Pirates on fire opening up to a 18-8 first quarter lead. Continental extended that lead to 15 for a halftime score of 34-21. The third quarter was all Panthers. Stryker scored all 8 point scored in the quarter to tighten the game to 34-29. The Pirates finished the game outscoring the Panthers in the fourth 20 – 17 for the win. Leading the Pirates was Gabe Williams with 19 (an excellent 9-10 from the foul line) and Wade Stauffer 12 points.
The Pirates will have their sectional draw on Sunday Feb 9, so watch the Continentalenews for details on the Paulding Sectional. The Pirates travel to Kalida on Valentines day, Friday Feb 14 and then play their last home game of the year on Saturday Feb 15 against Tinora.
