A lone run in the third was all it took to end the Pirates (6-15) four game winning streak and eliminate them from the Tournament on Wednesday evening. Sectional Final host Columbus Grove (14-9) got one hit and took advantage of 5 Continental errors to score the only run of the game. Fred Shepard took the loss for the Pirates. The Pirates had 5 hits in the game. Columbus Grove was seeded #4 in the District while the Pirates came in as the #9 seed.
Columbus Grove moves on to the Elida District semifinal to take on # 7 seed Holgate (7-12) on May 20 at 4:15.
