Continental High Fall sports team all enter tournament action this week and all will battle for a Sectional Championship. It is great to be a Pirate! Girls Soccer, #7 seed 7-8-2, opens up the tournament action by hosting #8 seed Liberty Center, 5-9-1, on Thursday in a OHSAA DIII Evergreen District Sectional Final. The winner will advance to District play at Evergreen on Tuesday Oct 24 at 7:15 against the winner of #1 seed Ottawa Glandorf and #9 seed Swanton. Continental lost the regular season matchup against Liberty Center 4-1.
Volleyball #6 seed 14-5, is up next on Thursday (10/17 – game on Thursday will be played Crestview) at but game site hinges on the OHSAA Van Wert District Section Semifinal winner of #4 seed Kalida 17-5 and #12 seed Holgate 9-13. If Kalida wins they will host the Sectional Final, if Holgate wins Continental will host. The winner will advance to the District Semifinal on Tuesday Oct 24 at 6:00. Other teams vying for a District Semifinal berth in the Van Wert Upper Bracket are #1 seed Crestview 20-2, #10 Pandora Gilboa 10-12, and #11 Columbus Grove 5-16. In regular season action the Pirates defeated both Holgate 3-0 and Kalida 3-2.
Boys Soccer #3 seed 9-7-1 will host the winner of #7 seed Spencerville 8-6-1 and #8 seed Allen East 6-8-3 on Saturday in a OHSAA DIII Kalida District Sectional Final. Winner will advance to the Kalida District Semifinal on Wednesday Oct 25 at 5:00 against the other Kalida Upper bracket Sectional Semifinal winner out of #1 seed Ottoville 15-0-1, #10 Fort Jennings 2-11-4, and #11 Lima Temple Christian 3-13-3. The Pirates did not face either Allen East or Spencerville in the regular season.
