It was a great night to be a Pirate Friday night. The Continental High Girls Basketball team opened up the Ayersville Holiday Tournament Consolation Game by putting in the first 11 points against Hilltop. Addyson Armey opened up the scoring by hitting a pair of free throws. A basket by Catelyn Etter and an old fashioned 3 point play by Kerri Prownant made it 7-0 Pirates. A basket by Prowant and Alex Hoeffel made the opening scoring run at 11 points. A Cadet 3 was followed by an Armey free throw to make it 12-3 Pirates after 1.
More of the same in the second quarter as the Pirates would put in the first 9 points of the half. A free throw form Hoeffel got the Pirates second half scoring started. Baskets by Madelyn Potts, Armey, and Etter moved the Pirate advantage to 16 Pirates 19-3. A pair of free throws by Prowant would make the run 10 points. A field goal by the Cadets was followed by a Hoeffel free throw to make it 22-5 Pirates at half.
The third quarter had the Pirates put in the first 7 points as Katie Keller made a basket followed by an Armey basket and a 3 point play by Prowant. A basket by the Cadets made it 29-7 Pirates. An Etter free throw was followed by a Cadet basket making it 30-9 Pirates. A Hoeffel basket finished the quarters scoring. Pirates 32, Cadets 9 after 3.
Both team put in 5 points in the fourth with the Pirates getting a basket from Lillie Nienberg and single points from Potts, Hoeffel, and Maria Vasquez.
Kerri Prowant led the Pirates with 10 points with Addyson Armey and Alex Hoeffel both scoring 7. Catelyn Etter put in 5 points, Madelyn Potts 3, Katie Keller and Lillie Nienberg 2 each, and Maria Vasquez 1. Armey was named to the All Holiday Tournament Team.
