

Continental traveled to the Benton Ridge area on Saturday to take on Liberty Benton in a non league soccer game. Continental took an early lead when Wyatt Davis beat the defense and goalie to push the ball into the open goal for a 1-0 Pirate lead with 21:42 left in the half. Westin Okuley picked up the assist on that goal. The Pirates expanded their lead to 2-0 when Rhenn Armey got credited for a goal when he somehow put in a goalie bobble with 20:49 left in the first half. The referees discussed this goal for a while. Pirates 2, Eagles 0 half. The Pirates would end their scoring at 3 when Westin Okuley fired in a shot from the 15 with 33:27 left in the game. The Eagles would score with 1:34 left to make it a 3-1 Pirate final.
Continental had 8 shots on goal and 6 corner kicks while Liberty Benton had 3 shots on goal and 1 corner kick. Konnor Knipp-Williams had 4 saves in the goal for the Pirates.
Continental improves to 8-5-1 and will host Pettisville on Tuesday for Senior night. Liberty Benton is 6-7-1.
The game was Kickin Cancer game. Over $1250 was raised for Cancer Patient Services by the teams. The teams had a juggle off with Liberty Benton winning the team portion. An individual competition between the top 3 players on each team was held after the game. The Pirates were represented by Rhenn Armey, Westin Okuley and Warren Okuley. Armey as declared the winner when he juggled the ball 287 times on his second attempt.
