Friday night the Pirate bus made the trip to Sherwood for a boys varsity game. Early on it was all Apaches. Fairview opened the game with a 9-7 lead after 1 and thanks to a 12-2 run during the second quarter had a 25-15 lead. The Apaches seemingly took control of the game as they expanded the lead to 17 half way through the third quarter. The rest of game was all Pirates as they closed the Apache lead to 8, 37-29 after 3. In the fourth the Pirates pulled away by doubling their score while holding Fairview to 10 for the 58-47 victory.
Gabe Williams lead the Pirates with 19 points while Derek Troyer contributed 12 (all in the fourth quarter). Wade Stauffer added 9 (two 3 pointers), Joey Swager 6, Jacob Williams 5, Trevor Williamson 5, and Tyler Brecht 3.
The Pirate take the road Saturday to Antwerp for a 6:00 Junior Varsity start.
