
ON Tuesday, Continental High Softball team put up an early lead and held on to take host Putnam County League rival Ottoville. Continental opened the game with 8 runs in the first while the Big Green put up 3 in their half. The Pirates would score the next 9 runs with 5 in the second and 4 in the third to take an 17-3 lead. The Big Green and Pirates would then trade runs to make it 18-4 Pirates heading into the bottom of the 4th inning. The Big Green would plate 6 in their half of the fourth an 18-10 Pirate lead. The Big Green would outscore the Pirates 6-4 in the fifth to make it 22-16 Pirates. The Pirates would add 2 in their final 2 innings while the Big Green would only add a pair of runs in the bottom of the seventh. Pirates 26 – Big Green 18.
Tygre Troyer got the win for the Pirates while Riley Fenter pitched in relief. The Pirates had 23 hits.

Continental is now 4-9 (2-2 PCL) and will host Hicksville on Monday. Ottoville falls to 0-10 (0-3 PCL). On Monday host Miller City defeated the Pirates 13-1.
