The Kalida Wildcats opened up the scoring by putting across a single run in the top of the third. The Pirates were scoreless in the bottom of the third. In the fourth Kalida plated 3 more runs while holding the Pirates scoreless to take a 4 run lead. Three more Wildcat runs in the fifth gave Kalida a 7 run lead with 3 Pirate at bats left. The Pirates put 3 runs on the board in the bottom of the fifth for a 7-3 Wildcat lead. The Pirates held the Wildcats scoreless while plating 4 to even the score at seven. The Pirates scored the only run in the 7th to take the 8-7 thriller.
