The bad news after a little more than 3 ¾+ games the Continental High Boys Soccer team has given up a goal. The good news is they are still undefeated and stand at the top of the Putnam County League race halfway through league play.
The Pirates showed not travel effects when Andrew Hoeffel put them on the board a little over 10 minutes into the game. Alex Sharrits took a pass from Luke Recker and hit the back of the net to make it Continental 2, Fort Jennings 0. These were the first goals of the season for Hoeffel and Sharrits. Noah Becher scored on an Elijah Mayes pass with 24:16 left in the half to make it 3-0 Pirates. That was the half time score.
Trevor Brecht regained the Pirate scoring lead when he put in his third goal of the season a little under 2 minutes gone in the second half. Becher would tie Brecht for the Pirate season scoring lead with his second goal of the day with 35:51 left in the game. Rhenn Armey got the assist on the Becher goal. The Musketeers would find the back of the net with 14:06 left in the game to make the final score 5-1 Pirates.
Continental had 11 shots on goal to Fort Jennings 2. Pirate Goalie Cody Auch would get credit for 1 save. Continental had 13 corner kicks to the Musketeers 1.
Continental improves to 4-0 (2-0 PCL) and will end there season opening road trip on Saturday at Napoleon. Fort Jennings falls to 0-6 (2-0 PCL).
