
On Friday night Continental played host to Leipsic in Putnam County League Softball action. After a scoreless first inning, the Vikings touched the plate twice in the second and add a third run in the third to take a 3-0. The Pirates put 3 on the board in their half of the third to make it a tie game, 3 all. The Vikings were held scoreless in the top of the fourth while the Pirates plated 2 to make it 5-3 Pirates after 4. The Vikings battle back with 3 in the top of the fifth to make it 6-5. The Pirates took the lead for good by scoring 7 in the bottom of the fifth for a 15-6 lead. The Vikings put up a single run in the sixth but the Pirates ended the game when they put 5 more on the board for the 17-7 final.
Amber Logan got the win for the Pirates. The Pirates pounded out 24 hits. Mackenzie Rayle was 4-5 with a double and triple. Jessica Stauffer was 5 for 5 with a triple. Amber Logan was 3-4 with a home run and a double. Macy Collier was 3-5 with a home run and a double. Riley Fenter was 3-5 with a triple. Keri Prowant was 3-4 with a double.
Continental moves to 4-7 (2-2 PCL) and will travel to Hicksville on Monday for a nonleague game. Leipsic is 6-7 (2-1 PCL).
