On Saturday, Continental Boys Varsity took 613 East across the county line to take on the McComb Panthers in non league action. Both teams came out ready to play and the first quarter ended up being a 9 all stalemate. The rest of the half belonged to the Pirates as they put in 10 more than the Panthers in the second quarter. Pirates 25, Panthers 15 at half. McComb closed the gap by 1 in the third Pirates 35, Panthers 26 after 3. The Pirates double up the Panthers in the fourth 14-7 making it a 49-33 Pirate final.
Wade Stauffer led the Pirates with 18 points while Trevor Williamson contributed 14. Jacob Williams scored 6, Nick States 5, Chris Potts, Chad Olds, and Tyler Brecht 2 each. Trevor Williamson made 3 three pointers while Nick States made 1.
Continental is now 8-5 and have a rescheduled game on Monday at Antwerp. McComb is now 2-8. Continental won the Junior Varsity game.
