“Well we tried to stay at a Level 1 but the weather just isn’t cooperating. Putnam County is now at a Level 2 and will remain there until noon Sunday. I want to try to keep everyone safe than sorry. Please!! Keep travel to a minimum. Even though it may look ok in the villages and some sheltered spots, the winds are 20-30 mph and the back roads are still drifting in a lot of places. Some drivers have experienced white-outs because of the blowing snow. Let’s hope this weather is only short term, but until this snowing and blowing passes, stay in and stay warm. Thank the snowplow drivers for all their efforts. Some day, soon I hope, we will be complaining about how hot is. Until then, lets be part of the solution, not part of the problem.”
