Yesterday alone, we received three accidental 9-1-1 calls from Apple Watches. If you own an Apple Watch (or get one for Christmas in the next few days), please read this article, it may help you prevent an accidental call.
If you do start a call by accident, please stay on the line until the dispatcher answers, and explain the mistake. This is a lot better than trying to hang up in time. Usually the 9-1-1 call will go through anyway. If no one is on the other end when we answer, we will call the number back. If no one answers then either, we will send a unit to the address it maps to to make sure all is ok.
