On Tuesday Continental played host to the Division III #5 ranked Wayne Trace Raiders in Boys Basketball. The Pirates came out ready for the challenge and ended first quarter with a 2 point deficit Raiders 14, Pirates 12. The middle quarters were all Raiders as they outscored the Pirates by 13 in the second and 12 in the third. It was 34-19 Raiders at half and 64-37 Raiders after the 3. The Pirates made a great effort in the fourth by outscoring the Raiders by 10 but in the end the Raiders went home with the 78-61 victory.
Trevor Williamson led the Pirates with 18 points, Wade Stauffer put in 17. Caleb Olds and Jacob Williams both scored 9. Dean Krendl, Tyler Brecht, Nick States, and Christian Keller all had 2 points. Trevor Williamson made 4 three pointers while Wade Stauffer and Caleb Olds both made 1.
Continental falls to 9-7 and will host Columbus Grove in a Putnam County League game. This game is also Homecoming. Wayne Trace improves to 15-1. Wayne Trace won the Junior Varsity game. During the half time, special recognition was given to Elementary and High School students who earned all A’s – congratulations!
