
A 23 point run by the Raiders that spanned the half was the tale of the game when Continental traveled to Wayne Trace for Girls Basketball action on Tuesday. A basket by Maddie Burke at the end of the first quarter made it a 5 point game, 15-10. The second quarter had the Pirates cut into the Raiders lead early as they made it 22-19 when the Raiders took off. The Raiders put in the last 13 points of the half including a buzzer beating 3. Raiders 35-19 at the break. The Raider scoring run would continue into the third quarter as they put in the first 10 points. Raiders 42-19. The Pirates would outscore the Raiders in the rest of the third 7-4 for 49-26. The Pirates would finish the game by taking the fourth quarter 11-9. Raiders 56-37 final.
Maddie Burke led the Pirates with 13 points while Madelyn Potts put in 11. Catelyn Etter scored 7, Tygre Troyer 4 and Bryn Tegnekamp 2. Potts put in three 3 point baskets while Etter put in 1. The Raiders made three 3 pointers. The Raider won the battle of the board with 21-20. Etter pulled in 6 rebounds.
Continental falls to 4-12 and will host Fort Jennings on Thursday in a Putnam County League game. Raiders improve to 14-5.
